Truth tables are used to help see all of the logical possibilities between observed criteria.
Using truth tables helps to ensure that within the scope of the possibilities being analyzed, we’re not missing anything.
For example, if we are looking at the output relationship between giving and receiving we can set up the following truth table (well it is not a table because this is all text):
- give much, get much
- give little, get much
- give much, get little
- give little, get little
From here we can search for situations that fit the relationships created. Once those are located we can then say which ones are better given a desired output. All of this through the use of a truth table.
